February Walk – Straffan, Co. Kildare

Published by

If you enjoy getting out into the fresh air and fancy an uplifting saunter and socialising walk on Val/ Gal/ Pal-entines Day, the 14th of February, join me at 11:00 am at Barberstown Castle Hotel, in Straffan (W23 CX40). There is free parking in the overflow “Battlefield” car park, which is sign posted on your way in from the Straffan Road gate.

A chance to enjoy the outdoors, Straffan village, and a moment of calm with some company.

All are welcome. Please dress for the weather and for easy paved walking.1

14.02.26 Update

Absolutely freezing walk in Straffan today, but it made a refreshing change from the rain! I was joined by one other walker, a good friend of many years surprised me and turned up, so, much love to her 💚

I somehow lost a tenner on the walk but it all balanced out when we made a new horsey friend, and found a hidden gem of a café – the Barista Bike Café beside the Steam Museum in the Lodge Park and Walled Garden. Lovely service and the cosiest, warmest room to drink up some delicious orange and mint tea, and an Americano, before setting out again into the Arctic winds of Kildare.
